Sednove offers an exceptional opportunity for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Software Developer to be an integral part of our successful, growing business. They will be responsible for helping us elevate our technology stack to the next level. 
They will assist in designing and developing proprietary CMS, APIs and internal/consumer-facing technologies. 

The successful candidate will work with a team of developers to ensure all code meets professional standards and business goals. They will be expected to provide leadership on design and implementation in a team environment as well as writing code during sprints.

Sednove, which means "new way" in Latin, is a technology company that was founded in 1997 by two computer scientists, Pierre Laplante and Chantal Bilodeau. The multinational group Platinum acquired Sednove in 2021 to increase its control over the development and quality of its software applications used around the world.  Platinum System is a global leader in chiropractic software.  

Sednove develops software web-based applications and websites for clients in various sectors such as financial services, insurance, pharmaceuticals, government, automotive, health, academia, and the fashion industry. We have three main products: Platinum 2.0 our Chiropractic EHR system, Glassbooking intended for the glass repair shops and KontactPay which is our credit card and ACH payment platform.

The company invests in research, development, and innovation in order to continue to evolve its Extenso product, which is a web development environment that integrates a content management system. Thanks to this platform, which combines no-code / low-code / code and performance, the development of web solutions is very fast and dynamic.

Responsibilities

• Work within a team to design, develop and support multiple web-based applications (products).
• Contribute insightful system design and possess leadership capabilities.
• Evaluate user requests for development and modification of applications to determine feasibility, cost and time requirements, and system compatibility.
• Have a customer focused mindset to create the best solutions for the user.
• Stay up to date on the latest advances and technologies. Share knowledge with others. Create documentation about your experiences.
• Own the support for the products and respond to incidents.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to your colleague developers on the team.

Skills & Requirements

• Hands-on development experience with one or more of the following Front End languages: Javascript, Bootstrap, CSS, TypeScript, jQuery, VueJS, React.
• Hands-on development experience with one or more of the following Back End languages: C, C++, RUST, GO.
• Experience designing and implementing REST web services. using Swagger.
• Comfortable with Rational DB SQL.
• Ability to solve complicated problems with robust solutions.
• You must also have the following business skills:
• Enjoy working with others in a team atmosphere. Prefers a small-business, fast-paced work environment.
• Enjoy maintaining/enhancing code to meet changing customer and industry needs.
• Understand that we own legacy systems that needs to be maintain from time to time.
• Employ a growth mindset and enjoy mentoring junior developers.
• Be an independent and critical thinker able to put forth articulate arguments for code and architectural improvements.
• Be able to act independently and make decisions based on established procedures.

Nice to Have

• Practical knowledge of microservices and event-driven design patterns
• Ability to debug distributed systems and scale them with AWS.
• Collaborate with both technical and non-technical coworkers.
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies.
